If you’re looking for one of the best restaurants in Oranjestad, Lima Bistro needs to be on your list. It’s located downtown at Harbour House, right near the cruise ships, and it continues to be one of my favorite restaurants in Aruba.
I’ve eaten my way around this island plenty of times, and Lima is one of those places I keep going back to. Chef Teddy and the team are putting out some seriously memorable food—from the cocktails and appetizers all the way through dessert.

Start With a Cocktail
You already know Aruba Buddy loves a good cocktail, and Lima Bistro makes some damn good ones. It’s the perfect way to kick things off before getting into a menu loaded with Peruvian-inspired flavors.
The Ceviche Might Be the Best in Aruba
Let’s start with the ceviche because this might honestly be the best ceviche on the island. My personal favorite is the version topped with crispy calamari. That extra crunch takes an already excellent dish and puts it over the edge.
Two More Must-Order Appetizers
The beef anticuchos are absolutely out of bounds. If you’ve never had them, they’re Peruvian beef skewers and an easy recommendation for the table—especially if you want to try a few different appetizers.
The scallops are another must for me. I order them pretty much every time I visit because they’ve become one of the dishes I associate with Lima Bistro.
I didn’t get a photo or video of the short rib during this visit, but it still deserves a mention. I’ve had it before, and it is outstanding. If you see it on the menu and you’re in the mood for something rich and satisfying, keep it in mind.
My New Favorite: Duck Leg With Mofongo
The dish that may have taken over as my new favorite is the duck leg served with orange Peruvian sauce and mofongo. That combination was unreal. The duck, sauce, and mofongo all came together in a way that made this one of the biggest standouts from the entire visit.
Save Room for Dessert
Whatever you order, don’t tap out before dessert. You really can’t go wrong with the final course at Lima—the kitchen keeps the experience going right through the end of the meal.
Chef Teddy could be one of the best chefs in Aruba. That’s a big statement considering how many talented chefs are working across the island, but Lima continues to deliver every time I visit.
Is Lima Bistro Worth Visiting?
Absolutely. Between the downtown Harbour House location, excellent cocktails, one of my favorite ceviches on the island, the scallops, beef anticuchos, short rib, and that duck leg with orange Peruvian sauce and mofongo, Lima Bistro continues to earn its place among my favorite restaurants in Aruba.
